Zoo pattern handmade rug is one of the modern works of Afghan craftsmen. The rug was completed in December 2019 by three craftsmen, Najeba, Zainab, Halima in the Afghan Faryab Carpets Workshop. It shows a different type of artwork in Afghan handmade rugs. In contrary to war rug, which was popular till recently, now these and many other Afghan artists are trying to provide something different for their customers. The horses and birds have taken the place of tanks, artilleries, bombing jets, and helicopters of war rugs.
Material
For this carpet, the artists have used sheep wool which makes it soft, light and appealing. Vegetable colors are used for the colors of the Zoo rug.
